Dear John

Dear John,

We've been together for almost a year now.  It's been really great; you were my first, you know, and I learned a lot with you.  I've made a lot of really cool friends through you that I hope to keep.

But it's time for me to move on. I feel like I've changed and you haven't.  I'm a different person now than when we first met and I have different needs, different wants.

And, ah, I've met someone else.

Actually two people.  Remember when I was trying to win that contest?  Well, you're not going to believe it, but I won!  I know in spite of the pain you must be feeling, that you're happy for me.  Erin at Nirvana Mamma has announced that I have won the blog makeover contest and Pepper at Uniquehorn Design, whose blog design I really admire, is going to give me the makeover I need.  You have been comfortable, welcoming even, just what I needed when I was at home full time with a baby, living in a hectic construction site.

But now I have a little more freedom.  I am ready to see the world, to go on adventures, and to really appreciate this amazing place I live in.  I need something a bit more dashing than you.  And, I'm afraid Mr. Wordpress has what it takes.  So I'll be leaving you, John.  I'm going on to something with more focus: a different name, more images, franco-american cuisine (you know how much I love to cook), more adventure, perhaps less neuroses if I can manage it.

I know you want what's best for me.  And you'll be just fine without me.

The thing is, my projects are only half-completed and I'm not ready to make the move.  Can I squat at your place for awhile?  I may be a little less communicative over the next month until I move my stuff completely out, but you understand, don't you John?
